User Experience (UX) – User Interface (UI) Design

User experience design (UX designUXDUED, or XD) is the process of defining the experience a user would go through when interacting with a digital product or website.

User interface (UI) design or user interface engineering is the design of user interfaces for machines and software, such as computers, home appliances, mobile devices, and other electronic devices, with the focus on maximizing usability and the user experience.

For me, User Experience and User Interface Design (UX/UI) are the obvious next step for me as a web designer. I have been applying UX design and UI design techniques as part of my web design skillset, but a formal transition into the field by way of BCIT's User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) Design Associate Certificate Program has allowed me to commit to upgrading my skills in an official manner. Early into the program, I realized that UX/UI is my passion and I've made the right choice in continuing my journey in a very important and exciting field.
